Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Licensed Clinical Social Worker · Individual & Couples · Telehealth — Texas
Finding the right counselor is half the work. The other half is being honest — not the version of yourself you think a therapist wants to see. People say they can tell me anything and not feel judged for it. That's not an accident. I want this to be the place where you can put everything on the table — that's where the real work starts. I work with adults navigating mental health, addiction, and death and dying — including some of the least-talked-about experiences in all of those spaces, like limerence and OCD. Telehealth only, available across Texas.
Credentials
How I Work
Therapy with me is collaborative, direct, and rooted in genuine curiosity about who you are and what shaped you. I don't offer quick fixes or scripts. I offer a steady, honest presence while we figure out what's actually going on.
The Foundation
The patterns that hurt you most likely have roots that go further back than the last few years. We look at where you learned to relate to yourself and others, and what it would take to update those patterns.
The Work
Whether or not you'd use the word "trauma," your nervous system has learned things — ways to protect itself that once made sense. We work at the pace that's actually safe, not the pace that looks like progress.
The Process
Understanding why you do what you do changes things. Not because insight alone fixes anything, but because it gives you somewhere solid to stand while you decide what to do differently.
The Integration
Our bodies hold what our minds haven't fully processed yet. Alongside the talking work, we pay attention to what's happening physically — what tightens, what opens, what finally lets go.
Who I Work With
I work with adults who are tired of coping and ready to actually understand themselves. People who are smart enough to have explained away their pain for a long time, and are finally realizing that insight alone doesn't make it stop.
You may have tried therapy before. Maybe it helped some, maybe it felt like going in circles. This work is direct, honest, and moves at the pace that your nervous system can actually integrate.
"You don't have to come in with the right words. You just have to show up."

— Tracy Maddoux, LCSWAbout Tracy
Tracy Maddoux is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker offering individual therapy via telehealth across Texas. She works in three interconnected areas: mental health, addiction, and death and dying — spaces that share more common ground than most people expect.
She has a particular interest in experiences that don't get enough clinical attention: limerence, the consuming, involuntary attachment that resists all logic, and OCD in its many forms, including the purely obsessional presentations that are frequently missed or misdiagnosed.
Outside the therapy room, Tracy writes under The Maddoux Collective — poetry, guided journals, and children's books rooted in the same conviction: honest words find the people who need them. She also served on the board of Touched by Suicide of Denton County, bringing the same directness to suicide loss support that she brings to the therapy room.
